Beginner Wicca Information-More Wiccans than Christians by 2020

I have found that many people who have looked into Wicca and investigate long enough to make an educated decision about what they want to represent their beliefs, find themselves surprised to find it as wonderful and harmless as it is.
Even though we know in our hearts that Wicca is extremely harmless, it’s only natural to be concerned about what those close to us will say. Well, I want you to know, all is about to change!
Actually it has been changing for sometime, slowly, continuously changing as people become more in tuned to what really matters in their lives. Aaron Kheifets, a writer for the “Wall Street Journal” did a piece on Christine O’donnell, and how she could further handle her situation regarding her comments about witchcraft.
He said: “Witches constitute a high-visibility, fast-growth demographic. At last count, Wicca saw a whopping 143% annual growth in membership for an 11 year period. Assuming that trend continues, the U.S. will have more Wiccans than Christians by 2020.”

Although Aaron Kheifets is a comedy writer, I doubt the above figures were created to make us laugh, as the stats I have recently found are not far off!

A fresh view of Christine O’Donnell & Wicca with Bill Maher

OK, so you’re all wondering if I’m going to mention the ordeal with Christine O’Donnell… With everything that’s been said, I feel that there’s one thing that has become perfectly clear in all the turmoil surrounding her comments made on Bill Maher’s show.
First of all, she’s not Wiccan, nor did she even mention Wicca. If she were a Wiccan, would we really be surprised about the public controversy? Is this the first time there has ever been confusion about Paganism or Witchcraft in the eyes of what many see as a Christian country? No, and it won’t be the last.

Will I live to see a Wiccan president? I highly doubt it. Do I think the country is all Christian? Absolutely not!

We’ve all watched as the many types of Paganism have been twisted and turned into some weird and scary cult that worships the devil or “Satan” which we Wiccans don’t even believe exists! We would never have blood, or a picnic on our Altars. And, we would never wear the image of a human or animal that had been tortured until bloody or dead around our neck to represent our beliefs as other religions do! (If we did, the burning times would likely return!)

Am I angry? Absolutely not. I feel it’s quite silly to be angry at the ignorance of uninformed people. Intelligent people inquire, and educate themselves. The ones that matter will hopefully get it…

Yeah, I’m an optimist, but I love all in life and feel sorry for those who are frightened by any kind of diversity!

Good day & Blessed be!

Wicca: What You Choose to Believe

Why do people choose to believe Wicca or whatever it is they believe? Personally, I feel that the choice a person makes about belief is personal, and not something they should be judged about. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone felt the same way? I also believe that it is rude to assume that because someone else doesn’t believe the same way as I do, that they are wrong about their chosen beliefs. This, however, is just what “I” believe.

I never attempt to tell someone what they should believe, nor do I try to convince anyone to believe as I do, and feel that it is rude to assume that people are incapable of choosing for themselves. Why do so many people choose to argue over such a personal choice? I have no answers for this.

So many wars in this world are fought because of the diversity of faith and religion, and for what? Since there are no proven scientific answers about how we got here, how our earth was formed, or why there are so many types of people on so many different types of continents here, or where we go when we pass on, there will always be a variety of beliefs that people choose about it! The key word here is “choice”

Almost everyone has an opinion, and I say “so what”! We own our beliefs, and all the fighting in the world will not change this. And why on earth should anyone want to change another persons’ beliefs? Oh, I almost forgot that there is a group that thinks I’ll go to a place called “hell” if I don’t believe as they do… sounds manipulative to me… I think one must believe in hell before they can truly fear going there, right?

I choose Wicca because it surrounds, enhances, celebrates, and respects all on earth that can be seen, felt, touched, and understood by my own personal sense of reality and the goodness that it continues to blast into my life and the lives of those I love! No one tries to force me to attend anything by telling me something bad will happen if I don’t, and no one asks for my money. No one tells me which gods or goddesses to kneel before, or on which day of the week. I also believe that each baby born is spiritually perfect, not born a sinner until saved by some unseen figure to be feared.

Remember, people create religions, not gods, goddesses, dogs, cats, plants, or anything else. Just people. For me, I choose Wicca. You choose what you like.
